Riders come face to face with dinosaurs in Simworx’s new immersive tunnel

Simworx has opened its first “immersive tunnel” ride as part of a new attraction at the Movie Park Germany theme park.

The ride features as the final part of the attraction ‘The Lost Temple’, and consists of two 30-seat ‘Jeep’ styled simulator units which sit on a dynamic, 3DOF (three degrees of freedom) motion base. The vehicles are boarded in a themed loading bay, and initially move along a short track in order to enter the main show area, which incorporates a 5m high, 46m long, 360 degree screen. 3D film projection combines with a range of 4D effects to create a fully immersive experience featuring dinosaurs in a temple setting.

Simworx said the vehicles used can be provided in configurations of 30, 60, 90 and 120 seats and a range of themes and film content can be supplied to create unique attractions.

In The Lost Temple, which is built on the site of the former Movie Magic Hall at the German park, the prehistoric, underground world is reached by an old lift and guests move through a series of different areas before boarding the Simworx immersive tunnel ride. The story involves a world famous archaeologist who takes riders into an underground excavation site before suddenly disappearing, precipitating a rescue mission into the unknown.
